March's recommended winery mailing lists to join:
Quilceda Creek
Alex Golitzin was born in France and migrated to the US and eventually settled in Seattle where he worked a paper company most of his career. In 1974, with help from his Uncle Andre Tchelistcheff (one of the most revered winemakers in the world); Alex made his first barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Following three more vintages, Alex and his wife Jeannette, bonded the winery in 1978 and produced the first Quilceda Creek Cabernet in 1979. Four years later this wine received a Gold Medal and a Grand Prize at the Enological Society Festival in Seattle, the only Cabernet to achieve this honor to this day. In December 2002, Pierre Rovani of the Wine Advocate wrote "Is there a winery in the world that has produced a finer set of Cabernet over the past decade?"

Tandem Winery
Greg Lafollette was born in Europe and studied Burgundian winemaking techniques at UC Davis. He trained under with André Tchelistcheff at Beaulieu Vineyards and worked as winemaker and general manager of Flowers Vineyard & Winery and received several accolades including "Artisan/Winery of the Year" by Wine & Spirits in 1995 at Hartford Court and again for both years 1999 and 2000 at Flowers Vineyard & Winery. The Wine Advocate named him “One of the 5 finest producers of Pinot noir.”
His winery partner, Greg Bjornstad also studied at UC Davis earning a graduate degree in Viticulture. Greg was selected for the coveted Chateau Lafite Rothschild internship and while in France, Greg learned traditional Bordelaise methods. In 1996, schoolmate and friend Greg La Follette tapped Greg to join a start up opportunity beyond the known viticultural world, the Sonoma Coast. Greg joined Greg at Flowers Vineyard and Winery as Vineyard Manager and Assistant Winemaker. As the backbone of the Flowers team, Greg shared in Wine & Spirits top award as “Artisan Winery of the Year” for an unprecedented two years in a row. Greg & Greg have joined forces again in their new winery venture, Tandem.
