WineRelease.com's January 15, 2004 Monthly Newsletter Greetings from WineRelease.com, now 885 winery listings strong! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Everyone I talk to has high hopes for 2004 and I hope you do as well. As you may know, President Bush recently signed the Can Spam Act of 2003. This new law, effective January 1, 2004, placed new requirements on email. Fortunately, WineRelease.com already complies with all the requirements (except including our physical address which we added to fully comply):
Only those people who have emailed requests to be on the WineRelease.com monthly newsletter and wineries that have responded with wine release info receive the newsletter (except for a few friends that were forced on the list back in 2000 when I started). We applaud the law and actually we go one step further in the fight against unsolicited email. Each year we email those subscribers that have been on the list longer than a year and require them to respond that he/she still wants to receive the newsletter (next request will be sent in March).
