This month we had 85 winery updates and 61 wineries releasing wine.
Visited friends in the UK a few weeks ago and went to a local wine shop, Corkage (their theme "For here, for there, from everywhere") in the town of Guildford, southwest of London.
I was impressed with the variety of US wines, although some of the prices are more than double in the US. I was happy not to see Barefoot Cellars which was common in London wine shops on my last trip a few years back.
2019 Black Stallion Chardonnay averages $16 in the US and is $38 at Corkage.
2018 Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon averages $60 in the US and is $74 at Corkage. The Kendall-Jackson Pinot averages $13 in the US and is $29 at Corkage.
2018 Tablas Creek Vineyards Roussanne averages $45 in the US and is $48 at Corkage. The 2019 Bedrock Old Vine Zinfandel is $26 in the US and is $40 at Corkage.
So next time I visit Charlotte and Jason, I will be ordering the low margin Tablas Creek and/or Pine Ridge Cabernet.
